Chapter 8
Ella was getting old. She could feel it in her bones, as she worked in the garden. Death didn't frighten her since she had lived a long, happy life. Both her girls had grown up to be beautiful teenagers, with Tiana discovering a passion for cooking and baking. The entire house was filled with different sorts of breakfast, cupcakes and bread. Lottie liked to paint every now and then but most of all: she filled her head with romantic movies and books. The family had also adopted a little rodent.
One morning Ella was just baking Nick a cake for his birthday. He had been feeling unwell and she hoped her cooking skills could cheer him up a little, just like it always had. But then she heared a loud noice coming from the bathroom. She rushed in, to find her husband on the floor, dead.
Ella was broken. She had to burry her dad, her mother and now the person who she had loved with all her heart. One day later she got a phonecall: her big brother, Doc, had passed away. Ella didn't know what to do, besides locking herself in her bedroom and cry.
